Getting here

Oxford holds a variety of excellent rail and road links. In addition to this, excellent coach links available which regular connections to Gatwick, Luton and Heathrow airport. Newton house is situated just a 10 minutes walk into the city centre along the Abingdon road into St Aldates. If you turn off St Aldates onto Cornmarket street, you will be in the main shopping area of Oxford and just a short distance from Oxford Castle, Carfax tower and Christ Church.

By train:

There are regular First Great Western services between Oxford and London Paddington calling at Didcot, Reading and Slough. In addition, a Cross Country service which runs between Oxford and Birmingham New Street, calling at Banbury and Coventry. By bus:

Newton house is situated on a bus route, and there are bus stops outside of the guest house. The following bus routes run from Oxford Train Station, through the Abingdon road:

  • 35 Bus towards Abingdon Town Centre
  • 13 Bus towards John Radcliffe Hospital

There is also a bus route from St Aldates, Oxford City Centre, Stop H2:

  •  23 Bus towards Redbridge

By coach:

Oxford’s coach station can be found at Gloucester Green Bus Station, 1 Gloucester Street.
The Oxford Tube runs a 24 hour service from Oxford to London, directly. The stops include: Hillingdon, Shepherd’s Bush, Notting Hill Gate, Marble Arch and Victoria. For more information please call 01865 772250 or visit The Oxford Tube website.

There is also a regular Stagecoach X5 service which runs between Cambridge and Oxford, calling at Bedford, Bicester and Milton Keynes. For more information, please visit the X5 website.
