Monday 11 – Saturday 16 November 2013

“I can guarantee the closest shave you’ll ever know!”

For any black comedy lover, this is just up your street. The chilling victorian musical that is Sweeney Todd comes to Oxford. Previously banished, sinister barber, Mr Sweeney Todd returns back to his home town of London seeking blood curdling revenge. Todd’s murderous eyes are set upon the judge who imprisoned Todd for a crime he did not commit. Todd’s anger increases as he recalls the harm the Judge caused to Todd’s family. During Sweeney’s time in London, his oblivious assistant, Mrs. Lovett assists Sweeney in seeking out his revenge. Soon, London begins to become a ghost town, with Sweeney’s bloodstained razors and Lovett’s meat pies mounting – something very abnormal is occurring…

The Oxford Playhouse is situated in central Oxford, and is the ideal venue for any theatre lover. With regular musicals and performances, the Oxford Playhouse must not be missed.
